disframe

disframe is a Migros Culture Percentage project.
Its goal:
There should be more inclusion and participation in culture.
But:
To achieve this, a lot has to change in the world of culture.
Many people in many places need to know more about inclusion.
About barrier-free accessibility.
And about what you have to do so that everyone can join in.
So that everyone feels they belong.
That’s what disframe wants to take care of.
We want to connect people and groups with each other.
So that they can meet.
So that they can experience diversity
And so that they get to know different perspectives.
So that things change.
So that everyone can be part of culture.
In front of, on and behind the stage.

To this end, disframe works with various partners.

disframe has various offers:

  • We are doing a crip art programme.
So we are showing art by artists with disabilities.
  • We award grants.
    This means:
Artists with disabilities and artists with chronic illnesses can apply to us.
    We support projects with money.
So that the artists can focus on their work.
  • disframe is a network.
    This means:
We bring different people and groups together.
So that they can exchange ideas about inclusion in culture.
And so that they can do projects together.

Before the disframe programme, Migros Culture Percentage already ran another programme.
It was called IntegrArt.
IntegrArt has been committed to inclusive stage art since 2007.

Why is the project called disframe?
People with disabilities do not yet have equal access to culture.
Their art is shown on stage less often than the art of people without disabilities.
Their pictures are shown less often in museums than pictures of people without disabilities.
They rarely play leading roles in films.
All this needs to change.
A lot has to change for this to happen.
You could say:
The framing must change.
Disframe means something like:
dissolve the frame.

News

disframe shows various forms of stage art from May to June 2025.
It runs a programme together with many partners.
There are partners from Switzerland and other countries.
