General questions and answers
Some people in our society are barely visible: we learn little about them in newspapers, on the internet or on television. This includes, for example, people with a history of migration, people with disabilities and people who do not identify with their assigned gender. The Diversity finder makes different realities of life more visible through the experts.
The Diversity finder increases the visibility of contacts for social and cultural issues with biographical expertise in diversity topics. The platform makes it easier for interested parties in associations, organisations, companies and public institutions to access experience and expertise on diversity issues. By incorporating a well-founded perspective, they can coordinate the content and processes of their programmes in such a way that they become more effective.
An example: an organisation wants to strengthen diverse teams. It wants to take the starting positions and needs of all people in these teams into account, and the opportunities of the team members should be fairly distributed. An expert from the Diversity Finder can then support the sensitisation and further process.

An important commitment in the area of diversity is the funding programme ‘ici. here together.’ It awards grants and professional advice to projects that promote encounters between people with different cultural and linguistic experiences. ‘ici. here together.’ over 250 projects supported. This strengthens social cohesion in Switzerland.
In September 2024, Migros Culture Percentage published the study ‘Gemeinsam verschieden?’ (‘Different Together?’). This study by the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute shows that, in Switzerland, we often only have contact with people who live and think like us. It also shows that many people want to change this. This is where the Diversity finder comes in and makes contacts for social and cultural issues with biographical expertise in diversity topics more visible. This makes knowledge and the realities of life accessible.
The experts have been selected because Migros Culture Percentage has already worked with them. They are contacts for social and cultural issues and have biographical expertise in diversity topics.
After a test phase of six months, the Migros Culture Percentage will decide on the expansion of the Diversity finder. It is possible that other experts will join the platform afterwards.
