The Culture Percentage at Migros Vaud
A commitment to local culture
Enshrined in the company’s Articles of Association since 1957, the Migros Culture Percentage is one of the great humanist ideas of its founder, Gottlieb Duttweiler. A unique approach and values that Migros proudly defends today, as it has always done.
The areas of involvement of the Migros Culture Percentage are: artistic, social or economic activities, training and leisure. The Federation of Migros Cooperatives (FCM) creates and supports nationwide projects, while the ten cooperatives focus on their local area, each setting its own priorities.
In particular, Migros Vaud encourages the performing arts (theatre, music, dance, shows for young audiences, comedy), provided they consist of original works performed by professionals established in the canton. The cooperative is also extremely active in community life throughout its territory.
From its offices in the Ecole-club de Lausanne buildings in Flon, the Migros Vaud Culture Department operates in six areas:
- Support for the arts
- Social donations
- «Exploration du Monde» season of films and lectures
- Sixty + Club
