Financial support for projects that strengthen social cohesion.

The "Social Affairs Projects and Initiatives" funding programme supports local, regional and national projects and initiatives that aim to  strengthen social sustainability. In doing so, they contribute to solving an issue that is widely discussed and relevant to society. A particular focus is on strengthening social commitment, dialogue and encounters.

Requirements

  • We accept applications from non-profit organisations based in Switzerland.

  • The project must be carried out in Switzerland and must also be supported by other organisations (financially, with donations in kind or with other resources).

  • It is important that we receive the application three months before the implementation of the project.

What we support

We support a wide range of social issues that  strengthen social sustainability. For example: inclusion and participation, neighbourhood development and neighbourhoods, poverty, cultural diversity, equal opportunities, (extracurricular) education, volunteering and care. In reality, these topics are closely interlinked. It is important that the target groups are always actively involved in the projects and that they can contribute their needs while the project is being planned.

The guidelines also contain clear exclusion criteria.

Questions about applying

No. You can submit your application whenever you like. The commission will review your application at the next meeting. The meetings take place every two months

How long before the start of the project do I have to submit the application?

You must submit your application at least three months before you start the project.

Can I submit several applications to the Migros Culture Percentage at the same time?

No. You may submit a maximum of one application per year in the "Society" category. However, we also offer the Coaching and Project space category. You can also submit an application or registration for these in the same year.

Can I submit applications to other foundations at the same time?

Yes, you should. We will only support your project if other bodies also support your project. This includes, for example, other foundations that support your project financially. Or someone provides you with materials or a space. Have the foundations not yet promised to give you money? That’s not a problem. What’s important is that you have asked the foundations.
