Migros Culture Percentage m2actpromotes projects that contribute to fair and sustainable practices in the performing arts.
m2act supports ideas, experimental set-ups, processes and projects that create and test pioneering methods, ways of working, structures and tools. It focuses on co-creative projects that are developed and implemented on an equal footing by cultural practitioners and specialists from other disciplines and areas of society.
Requirements
- is developed and realised co-creatively,
- is fair and sustainable in practice,
- is impact-orientated,
- needs to be professionally advanced and implemented,
- is developed and realised in Switzerland,
- creates value for many.
The project leaders take part in the presentation of the project and in at least two exchange meetings.
They share the findings and lessons learnt from the funded project on the m2act platforms. They do public relations work with the support of m2act.
The application contains a project description (to be completed in the application form), a separate timetable and a separate budget.
The primary project leaders are resident in Switzerland.
What we support
- Companies, venues, festivals, production offices, networks and other permanent performing-arts formations and structures in Switzerland which seek to tackle a current, concrete challenge in their working reality / structure, aiming to achieve an effective change towards fairer and more sustainable practice.
- Collaboration with experts and/or application of (existing) tools, methods or processes (according to the current call for proposals).
- Applications from individuals
- Applications for contributions to (stage) productions
- Fundraising requests
- Completed projects
- Services to be provided under subsidy contracts
- Infrastructure and operating costs
- Projects (within the scope) of schools, universities of applied sciences or universities
- Projects that are not relevant to the performing arts

Processes
- Start of tender: 15 January 2025
- Closing date: 03 March 2025, 23:59 pm
- Presentation of the project online: 24 April 2025
- Initial interviews: 13 May 2025 and 15 May 2025
- Second talks: mid-June 2025
- Start of implementation: summer 2025
Funding type
- Flat fee of CHF 1'500 for work carried out between the first and second meeting, i.e., finalising the project description, schedule and budget.
- Individual grants. The total m2act funding volume amounts to CHF 100'000. Between 3 and 5 projects will be funded.
- Support from the m2act team in the form of exchange meetings
- Internal networking events for the projects supported by m2act
- Public networking events for actors in the performing arts
- Support in public relations work

There is no maximum amount for grants. The total funding volume of the tender amounts to CHF 100'000 and will be distributed among 3–5 projects according to need.
