With the Culture Percentage, Migros Cooperative Lucerne supports projects in Central Switzerland, covering the areas of culture, social affairs, leisure and sports.  

Requirements

  • With the Migros Culture Percentage, the Migros Cooperative Lucerne only supports institutions that are not self-supporting, profit-orientated nor commercially active. 
  • The projects must be located in the economic area of the Migros Cooperative Lucerne, which includes the cantons of Lucerne, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Schwyz, Uri and Zug. 
  • Only projects that can demonstrate a need for financial support will be considered. 
  • We take a positive view of new, unconventional plans and projects that embrace diversity both internally and externally. 
  • Each organisation can receive a grant no more than once a year. A new application must be submitted each year for similar, recurring events. 

What we support

Funding is available for projects in the areas of culture, social affairs, leisure and sports. These are given equal consideration. 

  • Projects abroad 
  • Projects outside Central Switzerland (excluding camps) 
  • Projects in the area of education 
  • Projects of public institutions 
  • Political and religious projects 
  • Projects and work in a school or student context (excluding camps) 
  • Private individuals (e.g. scholarships, studio residencies) 
  • General patronage, membership or annual contributions from organisations and associations 
  • Building projects / restorations 
  • Projects that are already significantly financed by the public sector 

Deadlines and decisions

Applications must be submitted no later than six weeks before the event or start of the project. Projects that have already taken place and applications that have been submitted too late cannot be considered. 

A decision will be made within four to five weeks after the application has been submitted. 

Funding type

Migros Lucerne provides support in the form of cash contributions, deficit guarantees or Migros gift cards.
