m2act: Fair Practice and Sustainability in Cultural Work

Your band has developed a ritual for resolving conflicts during rehearsals together, and you would like to share it with other groups? Your festival is already implementing measures to protect the environment, and you would like to work with experts to plan and implement your next steps? You have invented a good model for helping each other with childcare during rehearsals and performances and would like to recommend your approach to others? You have written a text on anti-discriminatory language in museums and would like film festivals to benefit from it, too? You have developed a workshop on anti-racist curation and would like to pass it on to various institutions in a portable format? Migros Culture Percentage m2act helps you advance, implement and disseminate relevant ideas, approaches, measures, methods and tools.

m2act is the funding and network project of the Migros Culture Percentage for fair practices and sustainable structures in cultural work. m2act offers impact-focused funding, networks cultural actors from all sectors and supports projects that actively work towards structural change.

Funding

Migros Culture Percentage m2act supports projects that aim to bring about change in Switzerland’s professional art and cultural work. Since 2020, many artists and cultural practitioners have built new networks, launched initiatives and implemented joint processes with m2act funding.

In addition to financial support, the m2act team actively helps the projects to track their impact. Together, m2act and the projects are campaigning for fairer and more sustainable working conditions in the cultural sector.

Networking

Public networking events bring the owners of funded projects together with interested cultural stakeholders, specialists from other fields, cultural policymakers and scientists. When we pursue change together, the cultural landscape moves.

Internal networking events help the people behind the funded projects get to know each other. This creates cohesion and solidarity.
