Lapurla: children exploring with curiosity
«Lapurla - children exploring with curiosity» is a national initiative by Migros Culture Percentage and the College of Arts in Bern dedicated to the very youngest among us. Working as cooperative partners, the two institutions are responsible for the interdisciplinary field of arts and social affairs. In this venture they have taken on an important pioneer role in providing continued early cultural learning for children in Switzerland.
Creative space for the very young.
The project has two central aims: 1. Children from 0 to 4 need to be made welcome at every culturally significant venue. And 2. Lapurla wants our youngest world citizens to discover their creative powers. Because it is they who will be shaping the world of tomorrow.
Stimulating creativity in children
The «Creativity from the Outset» brochure contains some great ideas to stimulate creativity in children from 0 to 4 years of age.
Girafe awards 2021: Lapurla receives international prize in Paris
Great honour: On 8 October 2021, Lapurla was presented with the renowned Girafe award in Paris in the Prix International category. The accolade is confirmation that the joint initiative of the Migros Culture Percentage and the University of the Arts Bern (HKB) is an international model for early childhood education. The French non-profit organisation Agir Pour La Petite Enfance, which was founded in 2012, presents its annual awards to bring together experts, young children and their parents, promote educational opportunities for children and focus society's attention on them. The Girafe is wonderful recognition of the commitment of all those who work in Switzerland to make Lapurla a success.
