We were looking for projects that in particular also target or aim to increase the involvement of less financially privileged young people and young adults. After all, young people who are affected or threatened by poverty in particular have fewer opportunities to participate in society and develop their prospects.
Whether it's a youth club, mentoring offer, podcast project, peer counselling or action research: the call for tenders was open to a wide range of projects and offers that create freedom and opportunities - for and with young people in Switzerland.
A jury selected 33 projects from all over Switzerland that will receive a total of CHF 426,000 in funding from Migros Culture Percentage.

Background to the call for proposals
About 1,340,000 people in Switzerland are either affected by or at risk of poverty – that is almost one in seven people. It also affects the youngest generation: 155,000 children, adolescents and young adults in Switzerland are affected by poverty, with around 374,000 living just above the poverty line (Federal Statistical Office, 2022).
Migros Culture Percentage is committed to cohesion in Switzerland and supports people and organisations working to achieve equal opportunities and an inclusive society. Young people who are affected or threatened by poverty in particular have fewer opportunities to participate in society, make contacts, realise their talents or develop prospects.
Through the “Participate!” call for proposals, Migros Culture Percentage was looking for diverse projects and offerings that empower adolescents and young adults.
