How I can support
By looking closely at and analysing existing projects and their inherent power structures/stereotypes/discriminatory images, I can work with participants to find methods to make more diverse narratives of life realities visible. I bring theoretical and practical foundations and have developed concrete didactic concepts for queer-feminist film education, which, amongst others, deals with body images and gaze structures that determine our coexistence beyond films.
What drives me
I realised early on how important it is which images we see and which stories we tell ourselves as a society. In my childhood and youth, I lacked the visibility of other lifestyles and so I eventually started making films myself. At the same time, I realised that discriminatory structures are internalised within all of us. As a filmmaker, I began to research how other methods could be developed for more diverse narratives and visual languages and how these could be communicated.
«I believe that how we narrate our own coexistence within society – what representations we use and show ourselves – is crucial. Because what we imagine always depends on what we see and hear.»
