With the Culture Percentage, Migros Cooperative Basel promotes cultural diversity and social commitment in its economic area.

Requirements

Funding is generally available to cultural and social institutions that are not self-supporting, profit-orientated nor commercially active.  

  • Each organisation can receive a grant no more than once a year.  
  • The application should include a detailed budget, a description of the project, the location and date of the event and a convincing key message.  
  • Applications can be submitted in German or French. 

What we support

Migros Basel supports music events, theatres and cabaret and open-air stages through its Culture Unit. 

Migros Basel supports the activities of sports and leisure clubs as well as social institutions and organisations in a variety of ways in the social and community areas.

  • General operating costs  
  • Events and projects with religious content or a sectarian background  
  • Projects abroad  
  • Exhibitions  
  • Construction and renovation projects  
  • Charity events for foreign aid  
  • Individuals/private individuals (e.g. scholarships or grants)  
  • Carnival  
  • Production contributions for theatre plays, films, books, recordings, etc.  
  • Top-class sports and team sponsorship  
  • School projects (with the exception of school camps)  
  • General meetings, conferences and lecture series  
  • Specific funding in the area of Education, as the Migros Culture Percentage is committed to “Education for All” via the Migros Club School  
  • New uniforms  
  • Dog and equestrian sports  
  • Public-law institutions and their projects  
  • Purely commercial events and projects  
  • General patronage and membership fees 

Deadlines and decisions

Applications must be submitted via the online form no later than four weeks before the event or the start of the project. Projects that have already taken place and applications that have been submitted too late cannot be considered.  

The decision will be made within four weeks of the application being submitted. 

Funding type

Migros Basel supports organisations, projects and events with Migros gift cards, cash contributions and/or communication services.
