Jasminka Stenz (D/CH) grew up in the southern Black Forest and in Switzerland, where she is currently putting down roots again and initiating new projects. She recently graduated with an MA in Choreography / Fine Arts from the HZT Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin. She is a project designer in artistic contexts and combines research, performance, visual arts and dance improvisation with her work as a choreographer. She is involved in the conception, organization and implementation of event formats and teaches performance making, tango, dance improvisation, CI, dance for children and people with disabilities (inclusion). People and their relationships are central to her work. As a mediator, she leads courses in dance, performance and Tango Argentino.

Project

The komm.unikation research project is a call for social inclusion in our society and, in this sense and context, poses the question of what communication is today? Over the next few months, we would like to devote ourselves entirely to this topic in a research project, and smaller performative events and talks are also planned in this sense, which will enable us to exchange ideas. The demand for social inclusion is realized when every person is accepted by society in their individuality and has the opportunity to fully participate or take part in it. I see Double here as a focal tool and networking platform through the encounter with Gunda Zeeb and enables critical and artistic work on the connections between communication and the attempt to make inclusion a reality in our society.
In this work, Anna V. worked with me, was an exchange partner and stood for me again and again for an hour because I was interested in what it was like to simply look at a person as they stood. The medium of film gave me the opportunity to emphasize the movements that happen, that are constantly there. The dancing in the human. And the silent question was thrown back at me: aren't we all disabled?
comm.communication

The video is the result of research within Double, is an excerpt, is the first artistic expression and is now being developed into a larger project. It is to become an (inclusive) performative and cinematic installation that will be shown in summer 2022 at the Inclusive European Congress GRENZEN BEWEGEN in Zurich and will subsequently seek further exhibition venues, festivals and funding. Anyone who has ideas on this and would like to support this project further is cordially invited to write to me. jasminka.stenz@gmail.com
MOVING BORDERS 15 - 18 June 2022 in Zurich, please spread the word! Registration: https://k22.vahs.ch
People with disabilities often have more to give than is socially recognized and granted to them. Raising awareness of this and empowering participants to carry this message beyond the boundaries of the congress is an important concern.

GRENZEN BEWEGEN 15. – 18. Juni 2022 in Zürich, bitte weitersagen! Anmeldung: https://k22.vahs.ch

Organisation: https://socialartist.events/ u.a.
