How does Double work?
The mentoring and coaching sessions focus either on artistic work, on exploring and testing new ways of working, or supporting the next step in professionalisation. Depending on the discipline, 3–7 collaborations are available per year. People with disabilities are explicitly invited.
The programs are geared towards the needs of each respective discipline, so they are structured and organised differently. Both sides receive a fee or grants from Migros Culture Percentage: CHF 8,000 for mentors and coaches, CHF 3,000 for mentees.
The doubles working together determine the content and objectives of the mentoring or coaching program individually.
Double offers the possibility of a residence as a retreat for concentrated work and collaboration.
The mentoring and coaching sessions are flanked by additional disciplineand sector-specific programmes, the satellites. These include participation in network meetings of the Migros Culture Percentage projects m4music, Story Lab and m2act.
The first double network meeting on coaching/mentoring took place on 15 June 2024. Since then, a networking meeting has been scheduled every year.
At the end of the collaborations, excerpts from the resulting works will be published on this website; the rights remain with the artists.
The mentors and coaches are selected by the project.
Mentees apply during the annual call for applications via this website.
