Alexandre Lecoultre (1987) is an author of prose and poetry as well as a translator of poetry. His work Moisson was published in 2015 by Éditions Monographic; based on this work, he created a musical reading in a trio with actor Jérôme Melly and pianist Lucas Buclin. His first novel, Peter und so weiter (Peter and So On), was published in 2020 by l'Âge d'Homme and won the Swiss Literature Prize in 2021. A stage performance inspired by this book was produced with accordionist Julien Paillard, with whom he forms the duo Und so weiter. In collaboration with painter Claire Nicole and the typographic workshop Le Cadratin, the artist's book Pépins de pomme (Apple Seeds) was published in May 2020. His translations of poems from Spanish to French, by Raúl Gomez Jattin and María Mercedes Carranza, were published in 2020 (in the journals Europe and Rehauts, as well as the newspaper Le Courrier). His engagement with poetry makes him attentive to images, rhythms, and sounds, as well as to the edges of language and genres.

Jean-Marc Huguenin (1973) is an award-winning economist (recipient of awards from the University of Lausanne and the Alt-Commercia Biennensis), holding a doctorate in public administration with a specialization in the economics of education and the management of education systems. He has published several key works on improving schools and evaluating public administration. Winner of the Studer/Ganz Literary Prize (2019), he lives on a field in the Jura Arc, at the edge of the forest, but often travels north, to the dunes or the machair by the sea. There, he loses himself in the tides and hopes for the return of the wild geese. He has published several poems in various literary journals, such as la Feuille de Chêne, la Cinquième Saison, l'Épître, and le Persil.

Project

A woman and a man get lost in a forest. Imperceptibly, the landscapes surrounding them are crossed out, and others emerge from their memories. She slowly slips inside herself, perhaps eroding. He perceives a rustling, decides to follow her between the trunks, in the clearings, over the limestone rocks. But will he manage to hold on to her?

The mentorship will make it possible to work on both narration and style. On the one hand, it will be a matter of giving substance to a coherent whole currently composed of separate texts; on the other, it will involve reflecting on the stakes of style at different levels. The mentorship aims to allow for the deepening of a personal writing practice, in order ultimately to make it more reflective and autonomous.
