Isabelle Sbrissa (1971) is a poet and author of theatre plays and short stories. Since 2013, she has published four volumes of poetry, including ‘Ici là voir ailleurs’ (Nous, 2018), in which she questions the relationship of language to the world through a variety of forms, and ‘Tout tient tout’ (Héros-Limite, 2021), for which she received a Swiss Literature Prize in 2022. In this book, she accepts the limits of language as if in a pact. This agreement opened up further possibilities and led to her first fictional text, ‘Le Voyage d'Alina’ (Nous, 2022). A story about the fundamental human adventure of growing up. Isabelle is a regular mentor in both private and institutional settings. With gentleness and curiosity, she pays attention to the emergence of strange words, to the relevance of the forms, to the music ... and to the whole person who encounters herself while writing.

Véronique Wavre (1985) holds a doctorate in political science. She has analysed communication from the perspective of infrastructure and network access. Writing and storytelling have always been part of her everyday life, especially fairy tales and fantasy stories, which she now explores together with her two children. As a fan of audio, she publishes podcasts for the series ‘Pipileicht’ and ‘Es zwitscheret dihei’. In Zurich, language enthusiast Véronique embraces the challenge of multilingualism. Heroic stories were an obvious narrative format for her.

Project

‘Le Registre’ is a fantasy tale that tackles various themes, from the environment to spirituality and politics, and depicts the fates of heroines who are determined to change the system in which they live. The novel has great ambitions and the narrative structure is complex. Mentoring is ideal for opening up new questions: How can the French language be brought to life throughout the novel? How can inclusivity, humour and action be written and brought to life? This mentoring programme emphasises exchange and curiosity.
