Michael Fehr 1982* is a storyteller, poet, singer and performer. His performances are a spectacle. His lyrics oscillate between song and narrative. Profound and precise. Michael Fehr’s stories always illuminate existential states of being human.

Maria Marggraf (1991) works at the Literaturhaus Basel and for LITERATURSPUR. M. A. Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. 2015–2018 Initiation and management of the Berlin poetry collective Lyrik im Baumhaus. Winner of poet | bewegt 2017 in the poetry category. 2017–2018 artistic research project on Latin American poetry in Berlin. On the Basel Poetry Day 2018, city tour Poetry of Secret Places to the sleeping places of her formerly homeless brother Leo. May 2019 Poetry performance ‘Stillblüten’ at Dornach Monastery as part of the project ‘Aussteigen auf Zeit’. Participation in two exhibitions at the Centre for Environmental Exhibitions in Basel: 2020 presentation of the poem ‘Chronicle of Trees’, 2022 development of the insect oracle. In spring 2022, publication of her poetry debut ‘am morgen der schildkrötenpanzer’ (bübül Verlag Berlin).

Project

‘Oum’ is a story of disappearance, a story of climate change, a family story. It all starts with an excessively rainy winter. While Oum is still trying to keep the chaos caused by the flooding in her cellar under control, her mother disappears. For Oum and her sibling Nac, a search begins during which they lose many things they had taken for granted. Not even the land and the forces of nature promise stability. Who are the siblings at the end of the search? What does their mother want? Do the knotted stories of Ansi, their grandmother, shed light on the darkness? 
Against the background of this text, the mentoring program explored the possibilities of storytelling. The aim of the coaching was to find a narrative approach that could then be incorporated into the ‘Oum’ project. What form the text will take in the end, what will disappear and what will emerge, remains to be discovered.
