Les Diptik: Céline Rey and David Melendy met while studying movement theatre. Since 2013, they have been combining their cultural and artistic skills and performing as a clown duo. They initially worked in the circus, honing the art of clowning and refining their interplay on stage. In 2015, the company found its artistic identity. Les Diptik began to create stage pieces for an adult audience that are a mixture of theatrical storytelling, poetic absurdity and quirky humour. They particularly enjoy bringing clownish madness and theatre together. With "Hang Up" (2015), "Postscriptum" (2018) and "Etcetera, etc." (2020), they tour in French, German, English and Italian and fill large and small theatres throughout Switzerland. In 2020, they received the Swiss Cabaret Prize, which is awarded by the Federal Office of Culture. Coaching offer: We offer coaching in the world of clownish theatre. We work with a method in which the pieces are created on the rehearsal stage, where theatrical, physical and clownish material is created in an interplay between improvisation, discussions and writing. Our work is primarily based on the body and physical sensation. The body and our own inner craziness should bring forth the creations. We only use the analytical mind in a second step to weave meaning into the work. Our aim is to take current and philosophical issues apart and wrap them in humour and absurdity in order to reach the audience on different levels.

Jara Gerber (1994) grew up in the Zurich Oberland. She completed her three-year training as a movement actress at the Comart theatre school in 2020. She has been performing improvisational theatre for several years and is part of the theatre anundpfirsich in Zurich. Jana Sturny (1995) grew up bilingually in Fribourg. After graduating as a movement actress from the Comart theatre school, she dedicated herself to various theatre projects, including co-founding La JAJA Compagnie and setting up the "Prêt a jouer" festival in Fribourg. At the beginning of 2021, Jara and Jana founded the company c'est caput. The bilingual duo tackles issues that affect our society today in a clownish and animated way. Their first own production "Morgen! Peut-être." celebrated its premiere in September 2021.
Project
"Morning! Peut-être." is the first production by Compagnie c'est caput. The play takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the significance of capitalism in our society and in our minds. We will continue to work on this piece as part of the coaching program with Les Diptik. The focus will be on the interplay as a bilingual duo, as well as working on the sometimes clownish, sometimes bouffonesque figures and the transformation from one to the other. Especially in the clownish interplay, we want to benefit from the huge wealth of experience that Les Diptik bring with them. The aim is to gain more freedom in the play through stronger characters and to give room for improvisation. The piece as a whole should be crisper, more lively and musically more rounded. We want to tour various small Swiss theatres with the new version from autumn 2022.
