Project
"I'm a ridiculous person. Now they even call me crazy. That would be an exaltation of rank if I didn't remain just as ridiculous to people as before - (...)." This is how Dostoyevsky's novella The Dream of a Ridiculous Man begins. The protagonist has succumbed to absolute nihilism. His existence is repugnant to him. In delirium, he uses his imagination to develop a spiral of thoughts that winds its way into paradise. My project is to appropriate this narrative. To speak the text, to shape it, to wrestle with it and to bring it to the stage in the form of raw narrative theatre - preferably in pubs, squares and under balconies. As I have been doing non-verbal theatre for 6 years, I will end up working with the German language and its effect on stage. Nicole Knuth will help me with this.
