Swiss pianist Philippe Gaspoz was born in 1996, studied with Tomasz Herbut at the Bern University of the Arts and graduated with honors in summer 2021. His broad repertoire ranges from Bach to Boulez; in his programs he showcases the entire spectrum of piano music. In addition to his solo activities, he is a passionate chamber musician and accompanist. Furthermore, he is always on the lookout for social relevance in the formats he creates, for example in the film version of the discussion concert "Genius and Madness", which he produced in cooperation with Pro Mente Sana. In addition to his musical activities, he is currently studying for a master's degree in cultural management at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre.

Project

Philippe Gaspoz will be supported by Simone Keller in designing a new concert format that reflects his personal musical interests on the one hand and establishes a social connection on the other. The project is to be developed in an open process that will enable Philippe Gaspoz to expand his previous experience as a pianist, program manager and concert organizer and encourage him to break new ground.
Above all, Simone Keller will encourage Philippe Gaspoz to choose a very personal approach and find his own position so as not to simply add a new "product" to the music business. Over the course of several months, content will be sought with the greatest possible openness to results and carefully scrutinized from various perspectives to determine which ideas are forward-looking.
