Stopgap Dance Company «Lived Fiction»

What it's about:
The piece Lived Fiction shows that
dance can be radically accessible.
It can be powerful.
And it can help us to find new ideas for a good future for everyone.
Everyone can experience this dance piece.
Because accessibility is part of the piece.
It is part of the artwork.
And that changes the way we look at art.
The play is coming to Switzerland for the first time.
The group “Stopgap Dance Company” created the piece.
They have been making art together for 20 years.
Very different people are part of the group.
They are a community of differences.
And they also show this on stage.
In the piece Lived Fiction, movement, language and thoughts come together.
A story emerges from this.
The story is told in different ways:
- with words
- with movements
- with text
- with audio description
All these forms happen simultaneously on stage.
They are equal and tell the same story.
Sometimes, one person is alone on stage.
Sometimes, two people dance together.
Or a group.
The piece is as soft as candy floss.
And at the same time, it is full of power and energy.
It shows the audience:
This is what a shared future can look like.
And it is an invitation to help making it.
