Professional profile
My main focuses are
Dialogai offers the LGBTIQ+ community a place where they can be welcomed, listened to, informed and supported. The association fosters dialogue with all sections of society and defends the interests of its members as well as people who are discriminated against because of their gender identity or expression, affective and sexual orientation, sexual characteristics or serological status. Dialogai is also involved in the fight against sexually transmitted infections and works to promote the health of the LGBTIQ+ community.
How I can support
Dialogai works to integrate LGBTIQ+ people into society as fully-fledged citizens. Its work is as much about recognising LGBTIQ+ people as it is aboutdefending LGBTIQ+people who are victims of discrimination or physical or verbal aggression in the workplace, in society, in the family, in their environment, under the law and in all aspects of life.
What drives me
My aim is to train people in anti-racism and guide them on their way, to inspire them to address social phenomena and create new narratives. As a racism expert, sociologist and author, my goal is to support, train and educate people in Switzerland in anti-racism so that my children and future generations do not have to struggle with the same hurdles I faced and Switzerland becomes a fairer country.
Did you know that young LGBT people are two to five times more likely to commit suicide than the general population? 50% of attempts are made before the age of 20. Dialogai, an LGBTIQ+ association that has been active for 40 years, prevents violence and discrimination linked to affective and sexual orientation and gender identity, promotes health, offers listening and social support and organises community activities. It runs Checkpoint Genève, a community health centre, and Refuge Genève, a drop-in centre for young LGBTIQ+ people.
