Volunteering strengthens Switzerland.

Every year, two thirds of the Swiss population volunteer around 590 million hours of their time. They create connections between people, strengthen solidarity and help to prevent social isolation. Without this commitment, Switzerland’s strong civil society wouldn’t exist in its current form.

Migros Culture Percentage has been committed to volunteering for more than 20 years: as a founding member of the network ‘freiwillig engagiert’, with grants and professional support for associations and organisations, and in many other ways. In the UN Year of Volunteers 2026, the Migros Culture Percentage is launching the join-in initiative ‘Committed here and now’. We make voluntary work visible with a wide range of projects, honour the engagement of volunteers and motivate people to get involved. Together, we strengthen cohesion.
