The Migros Culture Percentage Story Lab serves as a laboratory for all forms of audiovisual narratives: from feature films to series, from virtual reality to games.
The funding scheme of Story Lab helps during the early stages of idea realisation. We support projects in the story development phase through flexible modules, which we continuously adapt to changes in the film industry. These modules include financial support, coaching and networking opportunities.
Requirements
Only projects that have already received Story Lab support in Stage I (story development) can take part in Stage II (the consolidation phase).
All formats are supported: feature film (documentary, full-length fiction film, animated film, etc.), short film, series, XR (VR, AR, 360°), cross-media projects, games and open-format development.
Only projects that have already been funded in stage I and whose stage I funding phase has been completed are eligible to participate.
Submissions can be made by writers, directors, producers, actors, freelance artists, designers and technicians in the audiovisual narrative field.
The Migros Culture Percentage Story Lab is open to experienced cultural practitioners and newcomers.
What we support
We support the development of audiovisual narrative projects by providing funding, coaching, mentoring and networking opportunities.
Deadlines and decisions
The projects submitted will be assessed by an international jury.
- Entry only possible for projects already funded in stage I.
- Portal opening stage II: Monday, 18 August 2025
- Closing date for stage II: Monday, 22 September 2025, 5 p.m.
- Jury meeting stage II: Tuesday, 21 October 2025
- The decision will be communicated in the following week.
Funding type
The selected applicants will receive a financial contribution between CHF 20'000 and CHF 50'000 to support their independent realisation of the modules.
The selected applicants will have the opportunity to present themselves as part of the Story Lab's ongoing partnerships (matchmaking) and to take part in workshops and masterclasses.
Industry newcomers (career changers as well as up-and-coming talents) are provided with coaching to support their story development process.
The Migros Culture Percentage Story Lab thus promotes young talent and offers career changers the opportunity to move into new environments. This is not a dramaturgical consultation but a helping hand in entering the relevant industry.
The selected applicants will be brought together with international mentors who will advise the project individually in various areas (dramaturgy, animation, team building, etc.).
