DoubleClassic is aimed at musicians involved in new music, music education and other forms of producing classical music and those who want to reorient themselves in these areas.
How does DoubleClassic work?
The project calls for 3 mentors every year. The mentoring programme focuses not only on composition but on all aspects of making music and the classical music business.
Requirements
- Only applications from Swiss residents are eligible. Each applicant may only apply once per year.
- Applications are accepted only from persons who have already completed any music studies that qualify them for a profession (MA degree) and who are looking for further professionalisation or reorientation. Admissions are based on the details of the respective call for applications issued by the coach.
- At the end of the mentoring programme, an excerpt of the project results will be published on this website.
- Ten working meetings are planned.
What we support
The coaching programmes are based on the specific coach’s call for applications:
- Artistic and technical supervision of instrumental and vocal compositions in the field of contemporary music
- Musical communication and creative mediation formats
- Development of own projects at the intersection of music and related arts, e.g. music theatre, installations or in newly invented, never-before-heard formats, preferably with participatory approaches – support in experimenting and expanding one’s own artistic language
Deadlines and decisions
At the end of the call for applications (approximately 3 months), the mentors review the applications together with an expert.
The selection process and determination of the winner takes a maximum of two weeks. After this period, applicants receive their acceptance or rejection notice.

- Financial contribution: CHF 3'000
- Mentoring with an experienced vocational college student
- Opportunity to participate in the annual Double network meeting, m2act (performing arts)
