Julian Simmons is a songwriter and producer from London, currently living in Zurich. Julian is a highly trained and experienced musician. He has a 1st. class degree in Popular Music (Leeds University), has performed on multiple North American & Pan European tours and lent his performance skills to a number of the records that he has recorded/produced. With more than a decade spent performing in highly accomplished choirs while still at school and a Grade 8 in singing under his belt, he has a deep understanding of technique that he has used to help countless singers – such as Ed Sheeran – in the studio. Julian has worked in many of London’s top recording studios including Konk, RAK, Abbey Road, Mayfair, Assault & Battery and Warner Music UK’s new in-house facility.

Ti Kuhn is a multi-disciplinary artist, musician and music producer from Bern. With her audiovisual project _pron0ia_, Ti has released two EPs and has played at important festivals in Switzerland. In 2024, Ti has won the M4Music Demotape Clinic in the category “Out of Genre”. Currently, most of Ti’s work consists of music production and guitar playing for the band MAÍRA, as well as being part of the transdisciplinary art project VOLLMOND.
Projekt
I will be working with Julian to get more insights into modern pop music production. In my current musical practice, I am happy to have acquired a lot of skills related to experimental sound design, which can be applied in various musical styles. Now I am interested in learning the basic building blocks of high-end pop music production and am happy to have found Julian as my coach, who has a wealth of experience working with international artists and in a wide variety of contexts. Over the course of ten sessions, Ti and Julian will be working on real world projects to build skills and experience in the studio. This will include the whole process from songwriting to producing, tracking, mixing and mastering.
