Project

"Bizim Aile" is an autofictional ensemble film set in the late 2000s in a village in central Switzerland. At the heart of the story is a six-member Kurdish diaspora family who live under one roof but increasingly clash with one another in their daily lives. The common thread of the narrative is the shared preparation for the Swiss naturalization test, which connects all the characters and forces them to confront the differing realities of their lives.

As part of the mentorship, we aim to further develop the content and structure of the project. The focus will be on deepening character work, refining the narrative form of the ensemble film, and ensuring a thoughtful, discrimination-sensitive portrayal. The goal is to produce a beat sheet, a treatment, and, by the end, a first draft of the screenplay during the mentorship, which will serve as a foundation for further project development and collaboration with a production company.
