Ramon Zürcher and Agnese Làposi

Ramon Zürcher, born in 1982 in Aarberg (Bern), is a film director and screenwriter. Having completed a degree in art at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), he pursued studies in film directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). His first film, DAS MERKWÜRDIGE KÄTZCHEN (2013), premiered at the forum of the Berlinale, followed by more than 80 festivals and numerous awards. His follow-up film, DAS MÄDCHEN UND DIE SPINNE (2021), also premiered at the Berlinale, where it won the Best Director Award and the FIPRESCI Award in the Encounters category. THE SPARROW IN THE FIREPLACE, the last part of Zürcher’s animal trilogy about human coexistence, premiered in the International Competition of the Locarno Film Festival in 2024. The film has received numerous awards, including the Swiss Film Prize and the German Film Critics’ Award. Ramon Zürcher is currently writing the romantic drama DIE JUNGE FRAU MIT DEM BRECHEISEN (AT).

Agnese Làposi, born in 1995, obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Film from ECAL and a Master’s degree in Creative Documentary from Lussas. Her graduation short film ALMA NEL BRANCO was nominated for the Swiss Film Awards in 2021. Her short films have been presented at numerous international festivals, including Angers, Oberhausen, Palm Springs, Alice nella città, Doclisboa, IDFA, and Visions du Réel. In 2020, she won the SSA grant for first feature films with MONTAGNA VACANTE. She took part in the Locarno Spring Academy and directed an episode of the Swiss documentary series FUTURA!. Her latest film, I FISICI, produced for the collection De la scène à l’écran, is an adaptation of Dürrenmatt’s famous play. She also edited and co-wrote the audio documentaries MAMERA and PANICO MORALE. In addition, she organizes filmmaking workshops for teenagers.
