Monda Futura: Working Together for the Future of Switzerland

In times of climate change and geopolitical crises, many people feel powerless. Society hardly dares to think big any more. And politics and business are all too often preoccupied with managing acute problems. The view to the future is forgotten. Even though it is more important than ever to think about how we want to live in the future – and start setting the course today.

Navigating a confusing present

This is where Monda Futura comes in: supported by the Migros Pioneer Fund, the organisation brings together people from all parts of society to develop a broad-based vision for the future of Switzerland. To this end, Monda Futura collects ideas and wishes relating to the question of how we want to live. The collected input is used to design scenarios that are then presented to the general public for evaluation and discussion. Like a funnel, the future concepts condense into visions of society in which everyone can find a place. This is the first time that a broad, democratically supported vision for the future of Switzerland has been created.

These visions of society are not an end in themselves: they become a model for entrepreneurial, social and political action. Based on these, Monda Futura works with municipalities and cities, companies and organisations to derive concrete steps that help to bring us closer to the desired future step by step.

Monda Futura strengthens the self-efficacy of people in Switzerland and the resilience of society as a whole by opening up a new scope for action and providing guidance. Because those who see themselves as part of a positive future will face it with more confidence and become active co-creators of a Switzerland worth living in tomorrow.
