Dance festival Steps 2026

Steps is Switzerland’s largest dance festival and represents contemporary dance in all its facets.

Every two years, the festival tours the entire country, bringing renowned international and national companies as well as emerging talents to Swiss stages.

In 2026, 74 performances in 34 cities and towns invite audiences to discover new artistic voices, shift perspectives and explore the richness of today’s dance scene.

From powerful, rhythmic works to poetic moments, Steps demonstrates how diverse dance can be.

The stage programme is complemented by introductions, post-performance talks, workshops and other offerings that provide deeper insight and foster exchange between audiences and artists.
