Empowering volunteers through coaching, sharing and self-care
Volunteers look after people who have fled their home countries as they settle in Switzerland. z'RächtCho encourages them to look after themselves, too.
In northwestern Switzerland, z'RächtCho supports people with refugee backgrounds as they settle in Switzerland. Over 100 volunteers help individuals and families to learn the local language, find their way around in everyday life and make friends. Meanwhile, the association strives to support the volunteers’ own wellbeing to help them carry out their voluntary work for the long term and with enjoyment. Coaching sessions, networking events and a self-care pack containing prompts for reflection encourage volunteers to take a step back, process any stress, share their experiences and recharge their batteries.
From the project team:
«We would like to encourage our volunteers to make a conscious effort to set aside time for their own wellbeing.»
