A mentor for new volunteers
Thanks to Solinetz Zurich, people with and without experience of displacement are able to meet on an equal footing. New volunteers are supported by experienced volunteers.
Solinetz Zurich brings refugees and local people together on an equal footing. Anyone wishing to volunteer will be paired with a mentor to help them get started. People with experience of displacement who have previously taken part in a Solinetz project are also involved in this mentoring programme. The experienced volunteers support the newcomers, answer their questions – for example: how to organise a language course – and are there to help them in challenging situations. Further training and regular get-togethers provide additional support for the volunteers.
