The Mazay association trains volunteers to cope with challenging situations
At the Mazay association, volunteers learn skills for dealing with stress and challenging situations.
The Mazay association supports refugees and newcomers in the Bern area. Over 170 volunteers support individuals and families in their daily lives, provide tutoring or facilitate encounters between people from different cultures. To ensure that volunteers can act confidently even in challenging situations, Mazay provides targeted support through workshops, discussion groups and peer supervision sessions. Here, volunteers build up their specialist knowledge, reflect on their own role and learn to cope better with stress.
From the project team:
«Reliable structures and good communication are important for ensuring that volunteers feel at ease.»
