A toolkit for young camp leaders
The La Décampée association equips young volunteers with knowledge, self-confidence and a belt bag full of practical tools for everyday life at camp.
La Décampée organises weekend camps for children and young people in the canton of Fribourg, run by over 40 volunteers. The organisation also attaches great importance to training young volunteers and trainees who are gaining their first practical experience. With the support of experienced carers, they gradually grow into their role and learn it through hands-on experience. In future, they will be given an educational leaflet reminding them of the key principles of activity leadership, safety and communication. The handy set also includes a belt bag containing everything you need for daily life at camp. This helps the volunteers gain self-confidence, spend their time at camp in a more relaxed way and feel that their commitment is genuinely valued.
