Volunteers develop their community into a ‘social PermaCULTur’
Inspired by the principles of permaculture, the CULTIBO community centre is developing into a place where volunteers can grow together, in line with the motto: ‘give, receive, flourish’.
At the CULTIBO community centre, a diverse variety of people from Olten and the surrounding area come together and, in collaboration with the team, help shape life at the centre. Around 150 volunteers are involved, creating a wide variety of spaces for people to come together. The ‘Social PermaCULTur’ project fosters mutual support amongst volunteers. Inspired by the principles of permaculture, strengths and skills are wisely combined – just like in a diverse ecosystem. Giving and receiving come into balance. At the same time, the volunteers can develop their strengths, engage in active dialogue and build a strong sense of community. As a result, the community grows closer together.
