A tree for every volunteer
The Jura Red Cross recognises volunteers by planting a tree in their honour and offering wellbeing initiatives.
Over 260 volunteers are involved with the Croix-Rouge jurassienne, the Jura branch of the Red Cross. Through the project ‘Semer l’engagement’, the association is thanking its volunteers in a special way: every volunteer is allowed to plant a tree in their own name as a visible symbol of their great commitment. In addition, volunteers can take part in activities such as meditation or stress management and are invited to a group thank-you meal on Volunteers’ Day. This fosters a sense of belonging, recognition and interaction amongst volunteers from different fields.
From the project team:
«We focus on simple and practical measures that have a real impact on well-being. Later, we’ll be sharing our experiences within the Red Cross organisation.»
