Volunteering for local biodiversity
The nature conservation organisation BirdLife encourages and supports volunteers who are committed to promoting biodiversity in their local communities.
BirdLife Zurich supports more than 100 local nature and bird conservation organisations in the canton of Zurich. Many volunteers work in their own communities to promote biodiversity and bring more nature into the built environment . To help them carry out this demanding task in the long term and with sustained enthusiasm, BirdLife Zurich offers them practical encouragement and support through resources, templates and regular communication with the organisation’s office.

«Nature needs a voice, knowledge and perseverance – especially at the local level. With this project, we are taking some of the pressure off volunteers in our local organisations and empowering them to play an effective role where important decisions about biodiversity are made.»
